Freelance hacker helps drug rings avoid the wire

[…] each crewmember gets a cell phone that operates using a prepaid SIM card; they also get a two-week plastic pill organizer filled with 14 SIM cards where the pills should be. […] Every morning, each crewmember swaps out his phone’s card for the card in next day’s compartment in the pill organizers. After all 14 cards are used, they start over at the first one.

Eye exam today.

No, really, look again. THESE ARE MY GODDAMN EYES!!!

The white bit is the nerve bundle. That’s the thing blocking your vision when you do the blind spot test.

The darker area is my fovea… the bit that does all the serious seeing. That bad boy is full of cones, hence my PERFECT COLOUR VISION. The rest is less cone dense, and has mostly rods (so better for night vision… try looking at stars indirectly, for instance).

The wispy white bits you can see coming out from the optic nerve bundle are nerves. You can see them best in the left eye.

Note. Sometimes the “Play sound” button doesn’t appear. But when it does, it’s magical.

Zombie Apocalypse (2011)

Don’t watch this unless you love the cutscenes from zombie video games, and wish that they were an hour and a half long instead of just a few minutes between gameplay.

The script was horrible, and the actors choke on the lines creating myriad awkward moments. The acting was rough, though you can blame it on the script I’m sure. Ving Rhames plays that one character he is always cast as, and out of the rest of the huge cast only Gary Weeks and Lilan Bowden manage to give the vague impression of a character.

The one nice thing I noticed about this film was there wasn’t much of that horror trope where the characters make all the wrong decisions. The overall ACTIONS of the people in this movie were kinda respectable, which was nice for a change.
